Nursing Programs in Atlanta for second degree students

Published

Specializes in ICU.

Hello Everyone,

First off, I am new to allnurses.com. I am in the process of going for a second degree in nursing. My bachelors degree is in exercise science from University of Kentucky which means that I have most of my prereqs done. I plan to take the last of my needed prereqs (microbiology, abnormal psych) Fall 2016 and applying to nursing programs during the Fall for 2017 entry. A little more about myself, I currently work at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and I love my job there and want to progress within the company.

I'm finding that this process will be potentially expensive and extremely competitive. I'm looking for people who have been in my position that have successfully got into programs here in Atlanta for some tips and guidance as far as this process. So far I am exploring Clayton State, Georgia Gwinnet College, University of North Georgia and Mercer. I would appreciate any advice on admissions, tests, study tips, programs, finances please!
