NHPPD for California

Who all is included in the nursing hours per patient day? I've seen facilities where they count the MDSC, but not the ADON, or they DSD counts but not the MDSC, or the ADON counts but the DON doesn't.... Even one where the staffing and central supply people count!

Who do you count, and why?

    MDS and DNS don't count, sometimes SDC does, last building did not.

    Sorry, didn't finish, not sure why, but one reason can't count DNS in facility over 60 beds, cuz she/he can't also function as Charge nurse. I think the others are per facility/corporate policies.
