Newbie: Master's Program worth it?

I am graduating with my BSN this May. Of all of my clinical experiences, I've enjoyed psychiatric clinicals the most along with ER/Triage. I am also very much interested in teaching someday in the future. I want to enroll in a Master's program which starts in the summer (about a month after I graduate). A lot of nurses have told me not go into the "real" world if I want to go back to school - or I never will?!? At any rate, I was wondering if anyone knew the pros and cons associated with receiving a MSN in General Nurse Practitioner vs. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I know the General NP does focus a little bit on psychiatric but I'm interested in hearing all of the veterans insight (opportunities in the future, salary, etc.) Thanks so much!
