I am a brand new staff developer at a LTC/SNF. I have worked in LTC/SNF for the majority of my 10 years of nursing, with a small break in home health and inpatient psych. There hasn't been a "true" staff developer in the building in quite sometime, so I am rewriting inservice training and the orientation policies. I am comfortable with that, but the thing I am uncomfortable with is the interviews. They have literally just started giving me applications and told me "here you go." My interview was the DON telling me a bit about the facility and that was it.
So, basically, what are some questions you would suggest asking in an interview? There is a SUPER high turnover rate in this facility at the moment.... so I want to make sure that I am hiring the best people to help prevent this. It is all new management, which is helping. I want to make sure that this trend continues with hiring! Any help would be appreciated!
