need help! :)

Hi! I'm Carissa, a registered nurse from the Philippines, I was petitioned by my stepfather and presently residing here in Las Vegas, Nevada. I want to be a nurse here and the BON office here in Nevada told me to have a CES professional report from CGFNS. What does it mean? Do I have to take the cgfns qualifying exam? Hope u can help me. Thanks! :)

The CES is a service you can purchase from the CGFNS. It is a requirement for foreign educated or foreign graduate nurses set by various Boards of Nursing here in the US. CES and CGFNS qualifying exam are two different things and you don't have to take the qualifying exam.

CES means Credential Evaluation Service. This means that they will evaluate your credentials from whatever country you had your nursing education/practice and they will issue a report if it is acceptable according to US standards and based on that report, the BON where you are trying to apply to will make a decision if you are eligible or not to take the NCLEX RN for that state.

I advise you to visit CGFNS.org for the fees and make sure you select CES.
