Hello everyone,
I am a second year nursing student. I also have a hearing impairment and in need of a good hearing impaired stethoscope. Anyone have any suggestions for a good one?
Thanks!

Hey, a fellow classmate has hearing loss from the military and has one of these.
HERE
It has a volume control and is VERY sensitive. I have listened with it and amazed. It is pricey but it will be priceless in assisting with your clinical skills and assessments. Hope this helps you get an idea.

I don't know the extent of your hearing loss, but I have 50% conductive hearing loss in one ear and do well with a Littman Classic SEII. Love it.

Cardionics E-Scope® II
thats what I use - and I have 80% hearing loss in both ears. Works great and my classmates enjoy using it as well, because it REALLY magnifies every sound. Also has volume control, a little more pricey than the one mentioned in the other post, but I think its worth it.
Good luck!
Thanks for responding. I have a moderate hearing loss on both ears. the audiologist suggested that I get an enchanced stethoscope but I can't seem to find a store that carries them in my area. I live in Vancouver B.C. Canada.

I couldn't find one in my area either. I decided to try the Littmann 3000 series. I had to call to order it, but while speaking with the customer service person, I asked if the stethescope doesnt work well for me, could I return it. She said of course. So, knowing that I could return it made me feel more comfortable with the purchase. It was $300, BUT it is great! It has to be one of the best investments I have ever made!
