I am an LPN for about 4 years and just graduated from my RN program. I am working on an ICU here in OHIO(CINCINNATI/DAYTON area). I am having some real issues with scheduling.
I have small children and before I graduated I worked nothing but agency which kept all my weekend free and me working through the week. Now that I have just taken this ICU job it is making me realize that I hate working weekends because its the only real time I get to spend with my family.

I am wondering if there is a job out there for a nurse where you dont have to work weekends or holidays? Im sure an MD office would be an obvious answer but is there anything else that has 12hour shifts and no weekends or holidays?Heck at this point I would take every day of the week just not to work weekends.
Just dont know if this actually exist. I have never seen anything like that so I figured come and get some input from the people who might know.
PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN

You have figured out office jobs - OR might be an option depending on the facility but you often have to take call (depending on how many work there you might not have to take much). In my facility we have a specialty unit (Joints) that works only M-F (no nights friday either) and mostly don't work holidays since the doctors don't - so they usually get all of Thanksgiving week off for example. However, usually tough to get into. When applying around ask for specialty units.
Hope this helps,
