Need an advise and helpful tips please

I am a RN for 1 year and will start working on a medsurg flr on 24th of Oct this month. Any helpful advise? I wanted to have atleast 6 mos to 1 year of experience in medsurg and learn different kind of skills before moving up to something. Thanks in advance.
