Need Advice...what would you think?

Hey all. So my friend went on an interview and she gave me the nurse managers direct fax. I faxed my resume directlt to her, bypassed HR and finally got a call back. I interviewed with her and she said I still had to go to HR. She said she would call her and I would get a call the next week. Well I got a call less than 20 minutes later. I went to interview with the recruiter and thought I rocked it, which I never think. So the recruiter said she would call me during the week. Long story short when my friend found out that she got the job the NM said ohhh thank you for sending your friend to me. Score I thought. Soo I hadn't heard from either HR or the NM. So I called to follow up. HR said we are waiting for your backround check and reference check, then I will call you tommorrow to confirm for a physical. Then she said you know this is for float team right? I said yes, then she again said I would have to come in Tues or Wed for physical. She never said out right that I got the job. What would you think? I am soooo super nervous because I have been out of school since June and really want this job. It pays well $40/hr, and I get to float which is what I really wanna do. Any thoughts or advice.

It sounds like you are in the process of getting hired. They wouldn't be spending money on you for the physical if they weren't planning on hiring you. That doesn't mean it is guaranteed. If something were to come up in your physical or in your background check, they are under no obligtion to you.
