NCLEX

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

First and foremost I am new to this awesome community and let me just says that I am incredibly thankful for all the help and wonderful words of encouragement!!! I would just like to share my experience with both Kaplan and the awful NCLEX. A little bit about me... I was about average in nursing school. I studied my butt off, got passing grades but have always had to put forth a lot of effort to pass. I have always struggled with testing and was scared to death to take the NCLEX. I took the Kaplan class a week after graduation. I did between 50-100 questions a day and took my test three weeks after graduation. I didn't think the "decision tree" was helpful and to be honest I thought my Kaplan teacher wasn't great either. But I did feel that doing the Kaplan questions helped. I looked over my school notes and did the Q bank and trainer questions. I found it easier to use the trainer mode and answer the questions as I studied. I had about15-20 SATA, several meds I had never heard of, and a lot of lupus questions. I didn't have any med calculations and only a single L&D question. I had 75 questions. At about question 35 I started feeling like I was failing. I said a little prayer and continued the test. As soon as I finished I walked out of the room, looked at the testing lady and started crying. I stopped at my moms house(closer to testing center) and got the good pop up. I still didnt believe my eyes and continued to question my test. I found out today that I passed!!!! Let me just say that you truly need to believe in yourself and have faith in the Lord. Pray, pray, pray!! With him we can do anything! Even pass a NCLEX! And always remember "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and future. Then you wll call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart!" Jeremiah 29:11-13. Best of luck and Keep your head held high! Oh yeah and Say your prayers!!
