I have posted a few topics on the nclex exam. I have been re-evaluating my mistakes and hope this will shed light to my question. I believe the mistake I have ignored are major, but then again could this be to deep in the thought process?
Here is my discovery or nothing new:
I have noticed the exam breaks in four categories, then subcategories, and into activity care events.
Example:
"Category"
Safe and effective care environment
"Subcategory"
Coordinated care/safety and infection control [sIC]
"Activity care events"
provide information about advance directive/advocate for clients rights/promote client rights and needs/...(ect.) 27 events
When going back to square one I began to notice that "Coordinated Care" was communications. This seem to fall into the nursing process under "Data Collection" subject/Object info. Same for [sIC] with the maslow safety and security.
I find that there are four categories as there is four nursing process actions, "Data collection, Diagnose, implement, and eval. Am I getting closer to understanding the exam and how to assess each question?
Safe and effective care environment = Data collection
Health Promo & Maintence = Dx
Physiological Integrity = implement
Psychosocial Integrity = evaluate
Maslow
Safe and effective care environment = Safety & Security
Health Promo & Maintence = Self - Actualization
Physiological Integrity = Basic Physiological Needs/Love & Belonging
Psychosocial Integrity = Self - Esteem
I see a pattern of sorts which brings back some basics from the beginning. If I am right is there anything to break down each category into sections which could help clear up which category fits where? If I am wrong is there anyway of knowing what to look for.
