NCLEX RN 2017

Published

Hi everyone! I take my NCLEX RN this Thursday. I graduated December 16th and got my ATT finally about two weeks ago. I did the Kaplan course, and have ranged from 50%-70% on the test, but I find Kaplan difficult. I have been using UWorld and I have an average of 65% so far. I also have used the Lacharity book. I am very nervous to take the test and was asking those who have taken the NCLEX and passed how hard the questions are and what studying tool is most similar to NCLEX? I'm hoping it's not quite as hard as Kaplans questions!!! Uworld has hard questions but they are my favorite!! Hopefully someone can help me out and ease my nerves!! Thanks so much

Hi! I was in a similar situation as you. I graduated the same date you did, and I took the test last wednesday (2/8), it shut off at 75 questions and was instantly panicked. I didn't think I was necessarily smart enough to pass in 75, but didn't think I was completely clueless to fail at 75-- well good news, after stalking my state board website, I had an active license number the next morning.

anyways- I used the NCLEX cram book, hurst, and ATI for my review. The cram book and hurst did a great job at reviewing content and explaining things that i was unsure of or had forgotten. However, i didn't like the questions they each came with, i thought they were too vague and didn't clearly state what they were asking. I personally thought that the NCLEX questions were very similar to ATI (i'm not sure if your school made use ATI or not). the questions are very direct and fair questions. i personally thought that the questions were going to be more complex and tricky? if i could go back and do something differently, i would spend more time strictly answering select all questions, when my first one came up on my test i slightly started to panic.

okay sorry for the long post, but just remember to relax and breathe! you have plenty of time to take the test, don't rush. READ the question and really see what it's asking you. i had a couple times where i would look at the answers and think i don't think any of these would work, and it was because i read the question wrong.

GOOD LUCK, you made it this far, you can do it!!

With those scores, you will be fine. I strongly recommend practicing more with LaCharity/priority questions. More than half of my test were all priority questions.

Thanks for the thoughts everyone! I'm an RN and working now ❤ so glad all of that stress is over!!!!
