hi evryone
i sat last aug. 9 for my nclex.....
i'm so anxiously waiting for the result...
i have a question i stopped at 90 and i'm pretty sure bout my last question...
what to do when patient starts throwing things...
my answer is to tell patient to stop behavior (pt. like this responds to clear instructions) since that question was an example in the feuer review course...
am i right or is the review wrong pls. reply...

Well, it depends on the scenario present...if a pt. was throwing things and there were other pt's present, I would remove them from the situation if possible...IMO, the correct thing to do is to tell the patient in a stern voice that he/she needs to stop what they're doing...I once had a pt. that called me a c*** and a b****, amongst other names...I firmly told him that what he was saying was inappropriate, and that I deserve respect. I told him that I will leave the room and come back when he can treat me with respect.
