I took the NClex last week and passed. I studied too much I guess, because the questions were not as hard as the Qbank questions on Kaplan. I used Saunders to study content and used Kaplan for answering questions. I did 100% of all Qbank questions ( I think there were 1300 questions). Also did sample NCLEX type questions on Kapjan. So I would encourage to use both Saunders/ Kaplan. It depends on you also ( whatever choice u'd like to use). I started really bad on Kapkan; with I think 54%, then 58, 53, and then started doing good with 68, 78, 80, 62 ect.

As for study plan, I studied every day for 3 weeks and 3 days after completing nursing school. It was a major sacrifice bc I literally didn't cook ( my sister did the cooking), reviewed every Qbank after it was graded, and studied Pharm each day so I could familiarize with a couple of meds.

Unfortunately, however?, majority of my questions on Nclex were management of care and delegation; no OB, no Peds, and only 5 meds. Tons of select all that apply. Every body's test is different.

Good luck to u

I studied all day, for 3 weeks and 3 days. I regret doing that, coz the exam wasn't as hard as I thought. I'd encourage u to study at least 4 hours/ day

What is your schools pass rate? It is a good indicator of how you may do. I think studying is a great idea but I took mine on Jan. 3rd and passed (even have my license). I really didn't study a lot since our school made us do ATI so and had to score so we had a 98% chance of passing. I had done tons of ATI in Nov. to pass that test, so I just went over my weak points. DO NOT try to study everything, you went through 2 years of nursing school, you have tons of knowledge waiting to be used, you won't learn some magic info this late in the game. Refine your test taking skills and relax get rest and, on the test, focus on doing the best on the question in front of you. I felt like the test went fair to poor with tons of select all that apply (SATA) but I passed with 75 questions. The pass rate for nclex is about 80- 85% if you did ok in school you will be fine. Don't stress yourself to death for a month. Start looking for a job miss future RN.

My school's pass rate was 95% last year. But as of now, we are 50 in my class, 25 have taken so far & have all passed.
