NCLEX June 2017

Hi everyone! I told myself pass or fail I would share my study plan and overall thoughts about this exam.

Study resources:

Kaplan (was integrated into our program)

qbank: overall: 58%

question trainers:

1-70.7%

2-62.7%

3-50% ( I rushed through) retake: 75%

4-64%

5-60%

6-62.%

7-59%

readiness: 71%

uworld: entire qbank: 59%

lacharity prioritization, delegation: average per chapter 75%

apps: kaplan question bank. average 77%

content review: Saunder's-- fundamentals information + reviewed my weak areas (peds+OB)

study plan : Feb-March. became acclimated to Kaplan. took my dear sweet time answering the question bank so I could think each question through and understand the rationales without cramming. Maybe did 20 every other day or when I had spare time.

Feb- April. Supplemented knowledge gaps with Saunders.

March-May: uworld q bank once I ran out of qs from Kaplan. Again took my time.

May 9-11: in-person kaplan review

May 22- june 1- finished question trainers and took readiness

june 2-5 lacharity book.

how test went: I honestly thought it was SOOOO much easier than people make it out to be. Obviously I was well prepared though. I have major anxiety and I do not do well with studying weeks before a test. So I did what worked for me: slowly studying. I would recommend going slow for those who need major content review or who are anxious like myself. It just takes the pressure off. Test day was today! I walked in there nervous. Sat down, put on headphones, and got in the zone. I did not second guess my answers. I went with what I knew. Honestly, this exam is easier than both UWORLD and Kaplan. I sat for 25 minutes ( not kidding) and was done. Computer shut off at 75. Now keep in mind, I was a B student in nursing sschool and definitely was not at the top of my class. I couldn't believe it when it was over. Now I wait for my results. Please do not be afraid of this exam. Honestly, I thought it was going to be the worst thing ever but I thought it was very fair. Hope this helps! :) Will update whether I pass or not!

update: I passed! good luck to everyone, have faith in yourself!

Congratulations! I just took mine today at 2 and computer shut off at 75. I am so anxious to find the quick result. Does it really take 48 hours to pop up quick results?

Congratulations!!! I take my exam June 12th. I have only used Saunders, their question bank and flash cards to study. So I am wondering how similar the questions on Saunders are to the NCLEX questions in your opinion!

I live in Indiana and my license appeared on the BON website the next day at 9 AM. So I did not pay for the quick results. Another girl I know though paid and exactly 48 hours she got her quick results. She tested at 8AM on a Tuesday and got them 8 AM on Thursday. good luck! :)

Saunders is primarily content based questions, where NCLEX is analysis/application questions. This does not mean you are not prepared though. I would recommend downloading Kaplan NCLEX RN mini bank which is a free app for both IPHONE and Samsung. Those are questions you can expect to be similar to the NCLEX. good luck :)

Thank you!
