NCLEX help

Hi!

I would like some advice. I graduated from nursing school a year ago, but due to family crisis/problems have not taken the NCLEX and have only been mentally capable of doing any studying after moving out of the house (which was a month ago). I just got hired and need to take the NCLEX within 90 days. What would you recommend for me to help me study? I really need to pass, if I fail I will lose my job.

Hurst in class review helped me pass nclex in 75 questions. Wishing you the best of luck!

I didn't take the NCLEX-RN until 8 months after graduation. I studied using UWorld for 2.5 weeks, and I passed with 75Q. It took a half a week of warming up to shake the cobwebs off my brain, but passing the NCLEX after being out of school and not studying for a long period of time is doable. Glad you managed to secure a space where you can study. Best of luck!

If you are self-motivated,

1) Choose the review book you want to use, and stick to it. There are lots out there, you are not going to go over all of them. Saunders and Hurst are both excellent. You do not need to memorize every fact out there, but cover the material, and especially focus on the areas that your CPRs points you towards.

2) Definitely do questions, questions, questions. In my personal opinion, UWorld is the best one, with the best format, questions, and great rationales. Be really strict with yourself, and force yourself to stick to a plan and the number of questions you are going to do.

3) Get someone who will keep you accountable with all the above. This may be your spouse or S.O., or a study buddy.

In my personal opinion, the combination of the above works for the majority of people.
