NCLEX Advice?

Someone please give me some advice or support or something. My support system has basically fallen through.

I graduated with an ADN in May 2011 in a class that had less than half a success rate of passing NCLEX. I tried taking my NCLEX later that year in September with hardly studying at all and was nearly passing in everything but failed needless to say (don't ask, it was a very low point in my life, a lot of abuse, major depression and self-destruction, etc, that I've since worked really hard to overcome).

Last October, I was granted the online Hurst Review via Vocational Rehabilitation. It's helped me tremendously and I'm so grateful! I have done NCLEX-like questions everyday since October, usually aiming for about 20-50/day (I use several apps on my phone, Lippincott, Kaplan, etc. This is the best I can do as a mom with a young toddler and no one to watch her). I've taken 3 Hurst q-bank tests and have received the scores 75, 77, and 78. Other comprehensive q-bank tests I try usually rate me about 60-65%. I really wanted to try NCLEX again in March, but I don't know if I'm ready or even how close I am to passing? I know I still need more time to memorize some labs and study my pharmacology more, which I will be doing the remainder of February with content review, but other than that, what are my chances of passing? I CANNOT AFFORD TO FAIL AGAIN. Advice, something, please!

    I'm sorry to hear that you're going through some tough times and I do hope things get better! As for your scores so far, I think in the 70's is pretty good. I used the Kaplan qbanks and I feel that those questions made me so much more prepared because they got me to think like the NCLEX and i usually got low to mid 70's and on some I was in the 60's as well. I know I had a friend who didn't score as high on her practice exams and still managed to pass so don't stress too much on those numbers, focus more on question strategies and content that you may not be confident on. I'd definitely recommend learning those lab values and also the specific contact/airborne/standard precautions for different conditions as that also helped me! Try to relax a little (easier said than done, I know!) I will make sure to say a prayer for you wishing you nothing but the best! Good luck!
