MRI and elbow

I injured by elbow doing nothing. Couldn't see my doc so saw the PA who told me it was tendonitis and to take Motrin. 2 days later I can't use my arm due to the pain. A friend of mine had the same symptons and tore her tendon and needed surgery. Went for MRI in an open MRI it still was tough due to my claustrophobia. However since I have this pain my muscle was spasming. So I need to come back and take a med to relax me and a pain med. Prescriptions have been called in. My husband is going to come to the next MRI with me. Anyone know about this surgery? I have never had surgery before either.
