Moving to Washington State

Published

Hello,

Just looking for some advice. My husband and I are wanting to move to Washington State. We were looking at Tacoma or Olympia area. There is both pros and cons for both areas. Does anyone have any advice on where is a good place to live in Washington? Also I have applied for some jobs in Tacoma/lakewood area. Any ideas on how to get a job interview at these places? I did follow up on my applications.

Thank you

Hi,

While I'm not an RN yet (I'm heading back to school) I've lived in Washington all my life and Tacoma/Seattle in particular.

Tacoma and Olympia are good choices for affordable homes. Being more familiar with Tacoma and having lived in the 98405 area code I can tell you that location is where Multicare, St Joseph's Hospital, Marybridge and a multitude of clinics are located. Run a Zillow on that zip code for ideas about housing.

Madigan Hospital is at the joint Ft. Lewis McChord Base. The cities of Lakewood, DuPont and Stelicom are located nearby. Western State Hospital, a mental health facility, is located in Stelicom as well.

Good luck!
