Moraine to Harper?

I'm starting to really freak out. I've spent a decent amount of time preparing for Moraine's nursing program, got a great TEAS score, CNA, took Micro, A&P1 and 2 other pre-reqs and haven't gotten a decision yet, but if I had to guess, I'll get accepted for the Aug. class.

So I'm really excited about that, but now - curveball, my fiancee most likely got a job in Lake Co in Barrington, which is the Harper district.

I looked at their website, it sounds like the prereqs are completely different, they dont' even have A&P together, there is one class for anatomy and another for physiology, so I'm not sure mine would even transfer (and its a lot of work!!! I don't want to take Anatomy again).....

I guess I'm just wondering if anybody else has any insight on Harper and what it was like to apply, and if it sounds like it will be a huge waste of time for me to try to fit a square peg in a round hole? I soooooo don't want to move!!! Even though Barrington is gorgeous compared to the suburb we live in now (south), I just really wanted to go to this nursing program and don't know what I will do up there w/o any friends and family, or the school I want to go to. I feel like if it takes any longer too, that I will have a hard time even doing it b/c I got lucky here with a p/t work from home 3 days a week job. I could lose that at any time and have to go back to a 9 to 5, where nursing school would be impossible. That's why I wanted to get it done so quickly. It took me 2 years to even be able to go, because up until this year, I couldn't work from home and my hours were 9 to 5.

Hello,

I transfered A&P 1 & 2 credits to Harper from another state and there was no problem. I had to take a different test - NLN test. They may accept your TEAS scores though.

The application process wasn't difficult and I don't think it would be a waste of time. I would at least apply considering how much tuition would be if you move to Barrington and want to go out of district.

I know the program is rarely full and they often extend the application deadline. But...the graduation rate is around 50%. I really don't think that is higher (or lower) than most schools but it is just hard to watch your classmates fail.

Last semester we lost ~30% of our class. Most are repeating the semester but a few could not get in due to seats not being available.

Really?? It's rarely full?? That's so strange, Moraine usually has 300+ applicants for 50 or so seats. My situation sorted itself out though, because my fiancee ended up accepting a job in Berwyn, so we can stay in the Moraine district.

=)
