Modesto area

Published

Hello all, looking to move to the Modesto area from the Midwest, I am originally from San Jose so I am familiar with the area my concern is hospital working conditions and pay rate. I am currently a Med-Surg nurse with 5 years experience, TNCC, ACLS, and soon to be TCAR, also I am an ADN who will be starting a BSN program soon. Looking to get into an ED or back to Med-Surg. I have looked at Doctors so far any current thoughts, info would be great as most info I can find is pretty old.

Thanks in advance!!

I'm interested to know as well..

I'd stay clear from memorial. Shoot for DMC or even Kaiser. Make sure DMC knows you are in a BSN program, it is highly preferred. Went to CSU Stanislaus and did clinicals at both. Memorial is a pretty horrible place, lots of union and management issues.

Hi buttaflyRN. I'm a med surg nurse living in Atl but looking to move to Modesto soon. I'm originally from San Leandro. Will be applying to DMC and Kaiser. May do a short travel stint before I make a perm move.

Thank you! I appreciate your insight!

I thought about doing that too but I have too many little animals to try and travel at this point. Have you gotten your CA license yet? I'm curious how long it might take.

@buttaflyRN my license is still pending and I probably have about 1 more month left to wait. Yes it takes three months to complete.

Specializes in Med/Surg/Tele.

Hey zzbxdo, can you share more insight on memorial?? You're talking about Sutter Memorial Medical Center, correct? I am going to have an interview there and just want to know what's happening.
