  1. Thanks so much. It makes me feel a lot better to know I am not the only one that has gone through this
  2. And now I misspelled, misspell. Sorry I am not an english major LOL
  3. I know I miss spelled competitive, sorry!!!
  4. Hi everyone, I am student finishing my pre-reqs and I've noticed lately I've become very hostile to my fellow classmates when it comes to nursing school. I am very competitive by nature, but I don't like this feeling. I am almost happy when someone else isn't doing well. In the back of mind, I keep saying that thats one more person you don't have to worry about. I am having a hard time separating pride vs. boasting. Any thoughts? I hope this happens to others and I am not the only one feeling this way. I want to do well and sincerely I want others to do well, but I can't get rid of this feeling of happiness when someone else isn't doing as well. I feel like I am on a pedestal that could come tumbling down at any time. Honestly, I am not a bad person, I just want to know if this is common. Sometimes I call my mom crying because I fellow awful for feeling this way. I know I miss spelled competitive, sorry!!!
  5. Don't stress out!!!!! Easier said then done I know, but just relax. Trust me, taking it easy will help in the long run. One can only take so much stress. One day at a time. :) I wanted a 4.0 too didn't happen pretty darn close, but didn't happen. No one's perfect, so just relax. Your freaking yourself out. Don't put too much pressure on yourself. Like I said before one day at a time. You know you can do this, have some self confidence. If you don't make a 4.0 it's not the end of the world. You can make a 4.0, but take it one day at a time and breath.
  6. Thanks for replying! Was 3.7-3.8 for cumm GPA or science? When are you applying?
  7. Hi, Can you do a mini fall semester? Usually you start in like October till December. If I were you I would go for the RN at the communtiy college. As far as schooling, if you have the mini semesters, I would take at least two classes like psychology or english. Maybe online class at the CC?
  8. I just wanted to boost this post back up
  9. I agree with the volunteering thing. My nursing school told if they have two students one with a 3.7 and one with 3.8, but the one with the 3.7 is volunteering or working they would choose the 3.7 over the 3.8. Let's face it the student with the 3.7 and volunteering is putting a lot more work into their classes then the student with a 3.8 not volunteering or working.
  10. Don't worry it gets better. First days are always boring. Don't judge your teacher yet, give her time to warm up. The first stuff you learn in lab is kinda the basic stuff 2. :) If you still don't like her in a couple of days see if you can switch teachers (at my college they give us a week to switch proff's if we want), or just get through it. A&P 1 is a lot of memorization, which is different then A&P 2 which is more concept. Make flash cards and study. You'll find that lecture exams are more about physiology, while lab exams are more anatomy. Their not always like that, but usually they are. Every once in a while you'll find a weird question in a exam.
  11. Oh, also I am glad their is a lot of future nurses in my same boat because now we have something to bond over in nursing school.
  12. So, I would like to tell you all that last night before I went to bed I was reading all these stories and I had a horrible dream LOL. I was cleaning up poop,:barf01: , and unmentionables and while cleaning I was gagging and having such a hard time. Seriously though, thank you all for your support and guidance it means a lot to me know, that I am not the only one that ever dealt with this.
  13. Thanks everyone. I am more of a sight person. LOL. Anything like :barf02:or poop, I start getting really sick. I guess, I'll just have to deal with it, but it's nice to know I am not the only one that has dealt with this. I guess though once you get more experience, it's not that big of a deal. I guess it's just a learning experience.
