1st Semester Pharmacology
Hey everyone. So I'm in my first semester of nursing school. I know very exciting, also very nerve racking. I'm learning a lot very fast and they are always adding more and more stuff. I seem to be doing decent in my class, but pharmacology... I'm studying, but when it comes to the exams its like none of the info is sticking. I'm terrified I may fail the class. With all that being said and done I still have enough time to raise my grade and learn the material. Can anyone give me study tips? Lots of study tips? I currently read and make med charts and take notes, but some how the info is not sticking.. So any help would be greatly appreciated....

Columbus Tech ADN program Fall 2012
So hopefully we should all be either receiving calls or emails within in the next few weeks about the interviews. I heard that as long as you met the minimum gpa and etc that you were given an interview, but again that could just be another rumor. I will let yall know if I hear anything.. Good luck to us all..

Columbus Tech ADN program Fall 2012
I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about the interviews? I know it is still early but I wasn't sure if anyone had received emails or anything yet.

Columbus Tech ADN program Fall 2012
I'm not sure about the whole not liking to let people in who have kids. I know they are picky but not letting someone in just because they have kids is just awful. So I wouldn't say that it's true but then again there are many rumors that fly around about Columbus tech's RN program. Good luck to y'all both and keep the thread/me updated.

Columbus Tech ADN program Fall 2012
I applied for the RN program so hopefully I'll get an interview and then I'll go from there. My compass scores are 97 for reading and a 91 for writing. My nln score is an 80. And hopefully by the end of this semester I'll have like a 3.4ish gpa maybe higher. So goodluck to all that apply. Feel free to message me.

Columbus Tech ADN program Fall 2012
Well good luck to you. And I am with you on the apply everywhere thing. All "A"s are very impressive. The NLN is a tough test, some say its real easy and some say its real difficult. I've taken it like 2 times, and both times it was hard but now I know my weak areas. And what areas I should spend my time preparing for..

Columbus Tech ADN program Fall 2012
To pbni: The pre-reqs are the a&p 1 and 2, college algebra, english 1101, psychology 1101. Microbiology is not actually a pre-req, at least not from what I know. I want to take the nln in december so I can have ample study time, but I may take it like november 30th if there is a slot open.

Columbus Tech ADN program Fall 2012
Hello everyone. I started this thread with the hopes of having a place for those who are planning to apply for Columbus Tech's ADN or LPN programs? Applications are due March 1st for ADN and February 1st for LPN. I wish you all the best of luck.. Well I plan to apply to both ADN and LPN programs and maybe Surgical Tech. I have all my pre-reqs 2 A'S , 2 B'S, 1 C. And yes I am concerned about the C. But I'm still going to apply and hope for the best. I also plan to try and score extremely high on the NLN, so maybe the C won't be too much of a concern. My compass scores are decent, but I may try to get them higher. Good luck to us all. Feel free to leave your thoughts..

Is anyone else on this site applying for the program there for that year? For those you are already in the program: How is it?

LPN program at Southern Crescent Technical (flint river campus)
Hello. I am interested in any information that anyone can provide about the LPN program @ Southern Crescent Technical college @ the flint river campus. I am hopefully applying for admission into the Spring 2012 class. Questions: 1. What was the average gpa needed to get in? 2. What was the average teas score? 3. For anyone who got in there, what were your grades? ( if you dont mind sharing) 4. Also for anyone who got in. Did you like the program? How were the instructors? And where were the clinicals done at? For anyone who is applying goodluck....

Need some advice about military options
LunahRN: I haven't yet spoken to a healthcare recruiter. I was trying to figure out what I needed to do. My ADN is looking at taking me four years(I've been at school almost 2yrs and the program is 2 more years.) And my BSN will take me like 3.5yr-4yrs. I am only 20, but I really would like to get started with something. I have been highly considering my option 1. Join national guard > basic and ait> back to school for bsn> and do rotc/smp and be active army afterwards.

Need some advice about military options
I am currently going for my ADN/ASN, I apply next March. I am highly intrested in joining the military after school. I also plan to go for my BSN afterwards. I was wondering if the Army or Army Reserves lets people join with an associates degree. I read that the National Guard does, does anyone know that's actually correct? I was originally going to try and go for my BSN and try and do ROTC. Then after ROTC, be Active Duty in the Army and be an officer. However, the rotc scholorship was something that I was relying on but I was told that they are highly competitive due to the government being broke. Here are some options that I came up with: 1. Join National Guard first. Do basic and ait then enroll at a university and do SMP/ROTC. Smp from what I know is where, you serve in the Guard or Reserves while attending college and you do ROTC. Through that route I can still end up with a BSN and serve in the military. 2. Apply and hopefully get accepted into the ADN program. Finish the program and then enlist; however, from what I've heard not many branches accept ADN/ASN nurses the want BSN nurses. If I am able to enlist then I will be able to go back to school with the help of the military. Does anyone have any advice or tips about either options or even some options that they can include? I just want to make the best decesion possible. Thanks for any help....
