MECN program in UCLA

Published

Hi everyone,

I'll be receiving my bachlors in bio within a year and decided to apply to nursing. Through my years of volunteering in various hospitals and an internship in a local community hospital, I'm pretty confident that Pediatrics is where I will fall into. I recently discovered Masters Entry Clinical Nurse (MECN) Program, in UCLA, which leads to a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree. The program is designed for individuals who have a baccalaureate degree in another discipline to prepare for a career in nursing and is a two year program. However, i'm not too sure if this program would be the best for me. Do any of you, who are more experienced and knowledgable than I am, have any thoughts towards the MECN program in UCLA? If you were actually in, or are in, this program, It would be a great help to hear from you too!

Thank you

The first MECN cohort began in Fall 2006 and will not graduate until spring quarter 2008 (May 2008), thus there are not yet any graduates of this program officially. There are a few existing threads regarding the UCLA MECN program in the Graduate Student Nurse Forum (see link below for the most recent).
