MDC RN FALL 2012 who's taking the TEAS V in less than a week!!!!

Published

Hello fellow Nursing student,

I am a MDC student with a 3.2 GPA ( because I am lazy and never opened a book, so I decided B's were fine -_-) and I am applying to the Part-time or Full-time RN GENERIC program. Full time would be ideal since I am only 20 years old and I want to get this part over with and work on my masters. I am also applying to Broward College's nursing program. So I am taking my HESI for BC on Monday 4/23 and my TEAS V on Wednesday 4/25. I have attended Teas Math Prep courses in kendall campus, and tomorrow at 9am is my last one. I have a tutor for the entire weekend 4 hours between Saturday and Sunday, oh, and I think I am prepared enough, this would be my first time taking it and hopefully God willing the LAST...... I LIVE AND BREATHE NURSING, all of my sisters are nurses and it's something I have always wanted to do, people have told me that they can't picture me doing anything else with my life.

So, enough about me, I wanted to start this thread to see if anyone can respond how their feeling, with such a short time left until the TEAS V!!!

I would like if everyone would write how they feel, and how they have been preparing. I know I have cried all week just by thinking "what if my score is so low there's no point in turning in an application"... So please feel free to rant and shout and send all your negative energy out and into the INTERNET! So you can be nice and calm for your exam,

Hi Stephanie,

There's a good TEAS sticky note under the TEAS tab. Somebody had posted a good review of what to go over. I used it and thought it was pretty good. Also, if you have the ATI book, it's really similar to the MATH, ENGLISH, AND READING sections. I think you should master these sections and just do what you can with science. Science is kinda all over the place so it's going to be you either know it or not. Good luck and let us know!

And just remember to breath and read each question carefully.

Hello! Thank you , well my TEAS is on Wednesday but I just took the hesi and got an 82% overall and my gpa is only a 3.3. What are my chances. I'm scared. I can't imagine how the teas is going to be

Hi Stephanie!

Congrats on your HESI score! I'm sure you'll do great on the TEAS :)

I am taking my TEAS for the MDC generic RN program on Friday, April 27th. I've been freaking out and studying like crazy for the past week! I have a 3.5 GPA and I really hope to score above the 80's, because I heard that's what MDC looks for. The only other school I applied to is Nova Southeastern University. They don't have an entrance exam, but they have a difficult selection process, and it's kind of an expensive program compared to MDC.

Technically, its past midnight, making it the 25th already, So I just wanted to say GOOD LUCK ON THE TEAS TODAY!!!!!!!! Please make sure you come back and update me, since my exam is 2 days later :) You'll do great!!

For all who are taking the test...DON'T stress! Make sure to get a good night's rest! The thing that really got me was the fact that I couldn't sleep the night before and was very tired during the test. The test itself is not too difficult. Good luck!
