MCC Pre-reqs

U.S.A. Michigan

Published

Hey all I have a couple questions about courses and I hope someone can help.

1. Whats the difference between ENG 1180 Communications and ENG 1210 Composition?? Do you write essays and present your final in communications? (any teacher recomendations?? Send me a private note... lol)

2. I know you need BIOL-2400 or 2730, ENGL 118 or 1210 and BIOL 2710 to apply... when do I have to complete PSYC 1010, and BIOL 1400 (nutrition) by?? (and teacher recomendations??)

3. Is there any Math?? I didnt see it on the Degree Requirements.

1. English 1180 is generally your basic English class. You write about 5 papers, which is really easy. All the papers have different writing styles, like comparisons, poetry, etc. I thought the class was really easy and earned an A for my grade. My teacher loved my papers, personally. English 1210 Comp is "harder", but I haven't taken it. As far as recommendations, there are websites to check out as we generally can't give advice about teachers on here as it's a small world as you know.

2. You MUST complete Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology and English BEFORE you can apply. You generally would take Psych and Nutrition after. It depends if you want to get into the program of 2010 or 2011.

3. There is no math pre-req. If you are thinking about getting a BSN, take statistics. FYI: You do need to complete Phys Ed and religious/ethics class as well.

I have completed all of my pre-reqs except A&P. I will be taking it in the Fall. Again, as for as teacher recommendations check out ratemyproffesors.com (Generally what most people do). I cannot give you advice on teacher recommendations, sorry.

I hope this is some help to you. You may want to seek a counselor to get advice on classes you should take and when. I personally would take A&P alone as it's not the easiest class per what a counselor and others have told me.
