Maybe, I am wrong to attempt getting job in hospital while on methotrexate?

I am LPN with Sarcoidosis and have been on disability for past 4 yrs. However, I am actively seeking to get back into nursing. I have my license and applying for various positions. One was in transitional care unit at hospital. I have been re-thinking that I should not work in hospital, since I am an on immunosuppressant. I do feel better, but perhaps I am applying for jobs that will jeapordize my own health.

I too take methotrexate every week. I started working at the hospital as a tech 2 years ago. 1 year ago I became a nurse in the ER.

The real problem wasn't as much being exposed and "catching" stuff as the hours really wear down my body.

As long as you are a stickler for hand washing, you should be okay.

Unless it's meningitis. That is no fun, but an antibiotic and your fine.

Basically, I get a flu shot. Wash my hands raw, and keep about 2 feet between me and the patient and I've been sick about 4 times.

Hope this helps!
