I am new to town, and was wondering if anyone has completed or is taking the LPN courses from Hinds CC? I will be starting my program in January, and really dont know what to expect. I am really nervous and excited too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Hi Lindsey, glad to hear you will be starting the LPN program this January. I was also trying to get in the LPN at Hinds CC, but the wait list is long. I did not want to wait, so I will be doing a Surgical Tech prgram this January at another college. then try to get in nursing school from there. Hinds has a great nursing program. You will be glad you chose Hinds. Wish I had been as lucky as you are to be in already. I am wondering did you have a long wait before your name came up. Good luck and God bless.

Well, I applied back in March, before my husband and I got to Jackson. I was put on the wait list very early because of that. I was upset. I really wanted to start in August, but now I am glad to be starting Jan. I have heard that Hinds is a good school. So I am excited. I just got my financial aid info yesterday : ) Sorry to hear that you got wait-listed. But I am very glad to see that you are moving on and looking elsewhere. Best of luck to you.

:)

Yes, you will be happy with the LPN class at Hinds. Do you think you will go on for RN? I was thinking about that after I complete the surgical tech program. Not sure yet, I kind of wouldn't mind getting into diagnostic medical sonography. Guess I will just have to take it one step at a time though. Anyway best wishes at your career goals. Keep me posted how it goes. Maybe, who knows, I might luck up at Hinds one day. God bless

I plan on getting my RN after a few years of working. That is if I make a good nurse. :nurse: I will be attending the ADN program at Hinds as well. I also have a few pre-reqs that I need to finish first.

:)

I hear that the pre-reqs can be tough on some. takes years sometimes to complete all courses. but after all the work it will be worth it. I am sure so will do good and make a good nurse. Best wishes. Take care. :)
