Looking at different schools

Hi all,

So I just graduated in May from the University of Virginia with a poli sci degree and am now looking into nursing. For the past five summers, I've been working with kids with special needs including autism and downs syndrome at a local camp. Then I went to Korea for a mission trip for two months. Now I'm in Denver working with at risk youth.

Now I'm thinking about nursing because of my additional experience working with disabilities. I'm interested more in that than just working with children. After the end of this school year, I want to work as a mental health aide at a local in patient facility to boost my application.

Basically now I'm trying to see what schools I can go into directly for masters of nursing in Mental Health that are a little easier to get into? I took the GRE without really studying and got above the 50% marks on all sections. I'm going to study to try to do better. I'm also starting pre reqs next semester (probably only taking one or two at a time).

Location doesn't really matter to me. I've decided on mental health because I like that aspect of my previous jobs. Besides working at an in patient facility, are there any other jobs that relate directly to mental health that would really boost my application?

Thanks in advance!
