Looking for advice

Published

I live close to a community college that offers rn fast track for lpns. I have heard its very difficult and very stressful. I know any nursing school will be stressful and somewhat difficult but I have a 6 month old and a 5 year old and work full time. I am my family's major income source. I would love to hear from some nurses who have completed their schooling online. Where would be the best place for me to start? Will I learn as much as needed as I would in traditional classes? I just need help there are so many choices.

Are you an lpn now?

Yes. Going on my second year of being an lpn

I have found that lpn schools vary greatly on what they teach. I didnt realize I was so lucky to go to the school I went to. I came out w a degree and the ability to educate myself. I believe this background made the excelsior program doable for me.

I would say if you are able to attend a brick and mortar that would probably be better. Meaning you can get financial aid and have people readily available to help you. And your license would allow you to work in any state. Having to pay out of pocket is pretty horrible.I was the sole income earner for my family of five and had two jobs at the same time. I went to emt school as well.

You need to see if the programs are approved in your state.

Many people start and never finish. You will have to see what you can tolerate. Only you know what you can push yourself to do.

Good luck
