Looking at A-BSN programs and pre-reqs

Published

Hello!

I've just recently become interested in pursing nursing. My husband and I just moved to Pasadena so I've been looking at A-BSN programs around LA. Hoping to start school Fall '12 or Spring/Summer '13 if I can wrap up my prereqs. Cal-State Northridge is what I'm shooting for mainly because of its affordability. But because it us so competitive, I"m wondering are there any other A-BSN programs anyone can recommend that are under 50,000?

Also, does anyone have any recommendations for where I should take my prereqs? I looked at Pasadena City College but I couldn't find any of the courses in their catalog (Anatomy & Physiology w/ labs, Epidemiology...)

My final question is more like a concern. I've been looking at the posts concerning job searching in CA. It sounds pretty dismal for new graduates. Any advice on how to make myself more marketable post graduation? Is it so bad for job seekers that I should consider going straight into a CRNA or NP program after BSN graduation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
