LevLite????

I had been having trouble on birth control pills lately (tried orth-cycline, ortho-tricycline, and ortho-vovum 777) and had bad side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, constipation, extreme fluid retention, weight gain, and overall icky feeling. So my doctor is trying me on LevLite which is a lower dose birth control. I looked it up on the internet and found it approved by the FDA in 1998 and is supposed to have less side effects than other pills. Does anyone else know anything about this pill or has had any experience with it? I'm always wary of taking new pills of any kind.

I take Yasmin BCP and have for about a year or so after going through problems with Ortho-Tri-Cyclen and Ortho Novum before that. I love Yasmin and have no problems with it other than PMS which is not something that I expect to avoid! It has less ethinyl estradiol in it than those that you mentioned you had taken before (and same goes for the ones I was on before) and a new form of the other active ingredient, which honestly, I haven't researched. Anyway, it has 3 mg drospirenone/30 mcg ethinyl estradiol ... maybe mention it to your doc and see what she says? Good luck!

If you have problems with LevLite, you may want to ask your doctor about the Ortho Evra Patch. This once a week skin patch has less systemic side effects. It is relatively new on the market and becoming very popular!
