iv calculation question. help!

i couldn't figure out the right answer for this IV calculation question. please help me :(

order: iv normal salin at 125mL/hr.

tubing available: macrodrip tubing (15gtts/mL).

At 0700hrs there is 1000mL TBA.

at what time will the bag be completed completely empty?

the gtt's/mL don't matter. Think about it, if the fluid runs at 125 mL's and hour and there are 1000 mL's....

1000 divided by 125 = 8

So it will take 8 hours for the 1000mL's to run out. If you start at 7 AM add 8 hours to that and that's when the bag will run out

Remember to read to questions all the way through, sometimes there is extra information thrown in thats just there to try and confuse you!

The added information is the worst. It really throws you off from what is really a simple question. Always determine what you need to answer the question first then decide how to set up the information to get you the answer. Medication dosage questions are almost all just simple algebra. Don't try to make it more complicated than it is! ;)
