It's about that time... (Precepting)

I still can't believe it, I'm almost done!! I graduate in December and we've been told it's about time to start looking for our precepting site. From what the majority of the other cohorts before me have said, you usually get hired from the site you choose. With that being said, HELP!! I live in Florida, Palm Beach county to be exact, and would like to know which is a better hospital overall, HCA or Tenet. I know everyone has their own personal experiences and opinions but I'm interested on the feedback out there. If it makes a difference I'm looking to specialize in Pediatrics. Thanks to all in advance!! :)

I would be shocked if they hired you straight into peds. Be prepared to work in a med-surg type floor for a bit. I would see which one can get you into a peds preceptorship.

It's happened with another student from a previous cohort at my school. She did her practicum at a local hospital on a peds floor and they hired her after she passed her boards. Thanks for the advice though, I have no problem working on a med/surg floor. The more experience the better.
