before i take the quiz, i'll give you my answer...no!!!! i did two semesters online and it 'wasn't for me'. in my 'higher ed. in america' class, (in traditional school, last semester), my group did our presentation on distance learning. we, of course, presented the pro's and con's, but in the end, we skewed our audience against it.
ironically, about an hour ago, my hubby was sitting next to me, trying to get one of his assignments (via distance learning). he's sitting here, trying to figure out exactly what the assignment means. he now has to wait for the prof. to answer. he also attempted to initiate a 'chat' with classmates, but no one was interested!!!
for me, it's all about the communication and socialization. i need to get out of my house, and away from my family!! but now, i'm curious to see what the test says about me.

I have taken several independent learning/telecourse/web-based type classes, and did very well in them.
I think it is a combination of having the right type of student--one who is self-directed and does not procrastinate--and the right type of professor. Like Bonemarrowrn's dh, I have had professors who don't communicate their intent so well, and that is frustrating to have that type of roadblock thrown up when you are trying to complete an assignment.
Maybe they should have a quiz on "Is teaching distance learning courses a good match for you?" :rotfl:
