Is all hope lost?

I am a new RN and I work in a for profit nursing home. I am so frustrated with my job. Management only cares about the money and over work their employees as well as blaim them for everything that goes wrong. They don't provide enough staff and expect the work to be done on time. I hate being a part of this place, but I haven't had any luck finding a new job and I am hoping other places aren't like this one. Please tell me it gets better.

It does. I started in a for-profit facility myself and know all about the cost-cutting, profit-maximizing, under-the-bus throwing...

The good news is that not every facility is like this. Keep learning what you can from them while still job hunting. You may want to consider taking on a per-diem/PRN job at another hospital or work through a nursing registry--you can use that as a way to get your foot into the door of a new place to work, and then parlay that gig into a new full-time job.

Hang in there.
