Internal VA Hiring Process

I currently work for the VA and have applied for a different job (within the VA). I went in for the interview on the 5th and was told by the manager that they were going to make their decision the following day (6th). I have yet to hear anything from anyone. I contacted HR and they asked if I have received an email and I told them no. I was told by HR that they try to notify the selected applicant within 2 days. Do they email you if you did not get the job? Also to add, the manager was hurt and has not been to work since. Do I continue to contact HR to get updates? Has anyone experienced this?

Hello! I have experienced this. I was also told by HR that I would receive an email if I was selected or denied for the position. After two weeks of not receiving an email I called the unit manager I interviewed with and asked if I got the position. I was not selected as they were looking for someone with more experience. I interviewed for the position back in August 2014. I received the rejection email January 7, 2015. Better late than never!
