Information and insight request =)

Hey Guys!

Still doing a whole bunch of applying and also searching. I have been looking into Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, as well as Kern Medical Center, Memorial Hospital, and Mercy Southwest Hospital in Bakersfield. It seems as though they may hire new grads. Neither are a place that I want to be fore years to come, but I cant help but think of the experience that I could possibly get and then take it from there. I mean a job is better than no job, no?

If anyone is working there/has worked there/knows anyone who does or has worked there can share anything, it would be greatly appreciated. My passion would be to get into L&D, second choice would be NICU.

Thanks so much in advanced. I hope to finally catch a break!

Gettin a job at all in California is a feat in and of itself. Of course apply to any new grad L&D and NICU positions because you could get lucky. But it will be hard for you to get any first RN job so take whatever you can within reason. If you can't get into a hospital look outside of hospitals to get some experience for a year or two and can move into a hospital from there. Good luck in your search.

mrsboots87 - I sure have been applying to all positions too, not just L&D and NICU. I know it probably wont happen right out of the gate, but I do have one finger crossed.

Thanks for the info!
