I am auditing my hospital to see if we are following our MRSA Screening and testing policy and procedures; specifically on patients that meet the required criteria to have MRSA swab testing done apon admission or when the patient qualifies to be tested during their visit.
I would like to know if anyone here has experience in or suggestions that can help me better my present research that is in place.

Don't exactly follow your question, but.....we check everyone admitted if they have been in another facility within 30 days (even if it was OUR facility) or if they have a long-term MRSA flag in the chart.
Hope this helps.

Please clarify your question. Are you looking for best practices regarding MRSA screening? If so, I would check out what APIC says on the topic or search a EBP/guideline website, such as AHRQ. Your nurse epidemiologist would also be a good resource.
