I'M ****** OFF!!!!

I just found out that NYC Tech no longer provides professor information when registering for classes - so you have no idea which professor you're getting!!

Excuse me??? - Why can't I know which professor I'll be getting - I'm paying out of my pocket for these classes and want to make sure I'm not getting some "hard-ball" teacher that doesn't really care about their students!!

I suppose that NYC Tech has taken this measure because of the info. on ratemyprofessors.com

However, they seem to be special since other cuny schools aren't participating in this sort of non-sense!

I am registered for A&P1 for the summer, and A&PII for the Fall and would also like to possibly get a heads up on the syllabus (if I would've known who the professor was/is). - This really SUCKS!! - As I know A&P professors can sometimes make a break an A&P course.

This ****** me off so much - this school is the most convenient for me (I'll be going after work) - I get there in literally 10 minutes.

I suppose I could try the biology department - and maybe see if they give me the info. I'm looking for.

--Thanks for letting me vent!!:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Agh, I understand why you are annoyed, because I would be also. However, check outside the bio department where they usually list the professor and the course they are teaching, then ratemyprofessor the name. Also, with cuny's, they often put up the classes on Esims without the professors until they finalize the course, and then they list it afterwards (before the class starts), so you will still have a chance to check the professor. All that aside, regardless of who you get, and how nice or mean they are you should excel. I had professors people considered jerks (one of the tried to withhold my A because of 0.19 points-I fought him), and I got an A. Don't let anyones quality of teaching get to you, teach yourself and use lecture as a reinforcement time-not the be all end all.

Yes, depending on the department, they post professor names on ESIMS like RIGHT before the class starts. But honestly, while ratemyprofessors.com, is interesting and informative to some extent, can be very misleading. I disagree with alot of the comments about the professors and the comments are often harsh or irrelevant to the quality of teaching. My A&P II professor right now is strict, won't tolerate eating, drinking in class, talks tough, will kick you out of class without hesitation...but he really wants us to learn. He does not give away grades and wants you to understand and ask questions. He is one of the few professors at City Tech that students are afraid to cheat with (which is a good thing, IMHO). I was nervous about taking this class and everyone I took A&P I with told me I was "screwed" that he is tough. Well- I love the class- it is challenging but so interesting. His exams are sometimes tricky, but no surprises- since we covered the material. Anyway- good luck! You will do great!
