I've been an LPN for 3yrs. Recently my D.O.N. told me tat I needed to pass another LPN's narcotics ,with no other explaination given except that she was unable to d/t reason being "confidential". I strongly refused d/t the enormous work load, possibility of med error, along with leaving this other nurse to assess the patients after these meds were given. The D.O.N. was to say the least furious with my decision. Does she have the right to tell me I have to? I told her that " I refuse, under no circumstance would I pass her meds. That she would have to have the supervisor sign & administer the other nurse meds!!"Please tell me what you think, & how would you handle this situation.
