Hunter A2DP - any current students or recent alumni?

Hi all - I went to the A2DP info session at Hunter this morning and was really unimpressed. Could any current students or recent grads shed a little light on the program? It seems like it's getting a curriculum overhaul starting this fall, but I'd still like to hear your thoughts and experiences on the current program!

Thank you!

Hey there! I went to that info session too. I too want to know some honest opinions about the accelerated program. I have a friend who just got in the generic pathway starting this fall so I'll be asking her questions when I get the chance. I'm surprised they're requiring an NLN score of 150, although that score is possible to get. personally ive heard gpa is weighted more than nln but i don't want to get lazy studying for the nln lol. I have a lot of friends who did well on that exam but only scored in the 140s range. I could PM you if I find some more info about the program

What did you think, Vincent? I felt pretty discouraged by the info session. The program seemed rudderless.

Hi there - I know this reply is a little late and maybe you are not making a decision any longer. But I am a Hunter alumnus (of the main school, not the nursing school) so I can tell you that your feelings are not too far off, but that Hunter is a good school. While I was there I had a negative view of Hunter because, as a CUNY school, the administration is truly horrible. So no, nothing ever runs smoothly or is administered well and you will probably have many frustrating experiences dealing with the bureaucracy. But nurses who graduate from Hunter do well professionally and are well-prepared to enter the NYC workforce. It wasn't until I left NYC and worked in other parts of the country that I realized what a great education I got there. I was better prepared to enter my field professionally after a Bachelor's at Hunter than most of the postdocs I work with. I knew many nursing students who felt the same about their program.

BTW, when I was considering Hunter as a choice for nursing school, they were simply stacking GPA and NLN scores and taking students until they were full, so there were no required NLN scores, just suggested.
