HUC/tech

Hi! I'm in my last few semesters of nursing school and graduate in May. A few months ago I got a job in the Peds ICU as a HUC/tech and I'm really enjoying it. I wanted to get a foot in the door and I'm hoping it'll help me get my preceptorship in pediatrics. I was wondering if having that on my resume when I start looking for a career will help me? I do more HUC than tech because there's only so much I can do as a tech in the PICU, so I don't get to do a lot patient-care. On the other hand, I'm learning the charting system. Any feedback is appreciated.

Thank you!
