How long did you study for TEAS?

Published

Im wondering how many weeks or months i should give myself. Thx

Hey llr26,

I didn't study at all and got around an 80 percent. It kind of felt like the SAT but easier. I only took the teas because the backup school I am applying to requires it and they arent really competitive. However, if it was required for the school of my first choice I would have studied a lot because its very competitive.

I would take it just to see where you are at and where you need to improve on....thats just my opinion. Good luck! :)

I studied real quick the night before and received a 85 on it. Its not extremely difficult

I have heard that it's not necessarily the material that is difficult, but the way the questions are worded. Is this not true?

I studied about a week or two prior. Basically I just did the practice tests in the book, saw what I was not as strong at, studied that, took the online practice exam to see what the basic test format was like... and ended up with a score of 88. The TEAS V exam that I took wasn't all that hard.

The TEAS seems to be one of those exams that test your educational preparation. Sure, you can study the books for it, but if you lack a good solid foundation, you will struggle with it. The other thing with the TEAS that I noticed is that it generally asks some pretty straightforward questions and gives some pretty straightforward answers. The correct answer is usually pretty obvious fairly quickly.

If you have a good educational prep and just don't take tests all that well, I highly recommend doing the practice exams in the style that you'll be taking the TEAS for "real" in before you actually do the exam. Why? You should be more comfortable with the testing format and (hopefully) less anxious about it.
