How do you keep your sanity?

I just thought it would be nice to share some of the ways we keep sanity in our crazy lives as L&D nurses, aides, doulas, etc.. Here are some of the things I do:

1) The last act I do before leaving my unit is to take the paper I took report on at the beginning of the shift and I stick it in the shreader - this signifies the end of "work" for me and also is symbolic of leaving all my "work worries" just where they belong - at work!

2) I NEVER watch shows like "Special Delivery" when I am off.

3) As tempting as it may be and as comfortable as they are, I resist the urge to wear scrubs around the house, lol.

What are some of the things you do to relieve stress and seperate yourself from being a "nurse"?
