HESI Help

Published

I got to Drexel University and after an 11 month accelerated program and numerous HESI exams throughout the year (ranging from 70s to 90s, mostly in the 80s) just took my exit exam in which I either needed an 87% or a 950. I got an 86.4% and a 942. I was wondering if anyone could offer me any study tips. Please keep in mind that I had a capstone class in which I literally studied all quarter for; reviewed material for every class, etc. I am allowed a second attempt (one that will NOT be after a week of final exams and subject HESI's) but am very nervous and already feel the pressure. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hello daniellef18, I'm taking the exit hesi for the first time in a few weeks & we need a 900. What resources did you use to study? Your advice will be greatly appreciated. [email protected]

Hello Trust1179,

I used a combination of many things. My capstone course provided us with power point presentations that did a decent job of reviewing each of the classes. I used the HESI review book that does a quick and dirty on the main topics of each subject, and also includes great HESI hints. I used the Saunders Review book throughout my year (questions are too easy) and mostly did my practice questions with a combination of Lippincott's (which I highly recommend) and questions from Evolve. Hope this helps!

Get the HESI review book. That's all I used. Only a small portion is over OB and Pedi so focus on the rest. There were a lot of delegation questions. A friend of mine got a book over delegating and she said that helped a lot. I will say, if you pass the HESI exit with an A, you won't need to do anything before you take your NCLEX.

Hi! Were you successful on your second attempt? What did you do differently? I also need to achieve a high hesi score. Thank you!
