Help! Torn between 2 accelerated programs

Published

I was accepted into 2 accelerated second degree nursing programs. I started of wait listed for one 16 month program that starts this AUGUST and was very discouraged of never getting into a nursing program this year. Then the second school with the 13 month that starts JAN 2012 sent me an acceptance letter. I sent a confirmation payment to hold a seat because I figured there was no way I was going to get off the wait list and get in. Low and behold got an acceptance letter this friday and personal call that a seat is open and ready for this AUGUST.

Should I take the seat at the 16 month starting this month or the 13 month starting in Jan 2012? or should I just stay with the 13 month program that picked me initially because they wanted me and since I did send a deposit? I am anxious to start but am nervous that other students had months to prepare for this intense program and I just received notification. aghh I forgot, another factor is that the 16 month program I was originally waitlisted for but now in has the Masters program I want to enter after BSN. The 13 month program does not offer it. I am so confused....remain loyal and go to the school that picked me from the gecko or rush myself into a program that did not intially want me for the sole benefit I would be networking my way into the MASTERS program pick.

Personally I would go with the school that starts this august because they do have a masters program that you are interested in. That will help you have your foot in the door to get accepted into that program. Honestly choose the school that will help you take your career to it's full potential to grow as a person and as a successful nurse.
