it is prety much a must for me to work 35 hours a week while in nursing school. i have a pretty easy job which will allow for a decent amount of study time. do y'all think it is possible for me to try to do both. i talked to my councelor and she deemed the idea irresopsible and foolish. but this is not a choice for me im just married and my wife works full time while in school also and were barely making it. i guess im just searching for some

encouragement or something.

I wish you much energy, stamina and success. Nursing school is hard. You will need plenty of time to study, complete homework assignments, etc. Use your time wisely, rest when you have the opportunity, eat well and stay hydrated. All the best to you!!

Anything can be done when you put your mind to it!! When i was in nursing school, I attended classes and clinical Mon-Thurs, then worked 7p-7a every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights with the rare exception of vacation time, pto, etc. I had a husband who worked full time and 2 children to support and care for. It was difficult, but I found a way to make it happen with a 3.9 GPA. If you want it bad enough, you can succeed in nursing school!

It is absolutely possible! I did!!!! I worked full time 9-5 in an office job and I went to school part-time on the evenings and weekends. I will tell it was not easy and I missed out on a lot but the 2 1/2 years it took, it was well worth the sacrifice.

I am not sure what state you are in and if there are schools around your area that will offer a program similar to mine. However, it is do-able as long as you are organized, focused, and committed! Good Luck!!!!

You can definitely do it. I know people who worked full-time, went to school full-time, and still did very well. You should request a new counsellor. She should be working with you to help you reach your goals, not discourage you. Being responsible should not be called foolish. It is hard, but not at all impossible. Good luck.

It's not easy but it can be done.

If you have a job which will allow for study time, then you are blessed. Take advantage of that!

I agree with BlueEyedRN, you need a counselor who will encourage you, not discourage you. Go for it!

Irresponsible and foolish, huh? You should have told her you will gladly quit your job if she'll offer to pay for your tuition and living expenses! :D

I've come to the conclusion that if you want something badly enough, you can and will overcome any obstacles that are in the way, and you WILL succeed! Good luck to you!!!
