help! fluid and e-lyte imbalances

Hi all nurses!

I think i am about to go crazy!I have a test for medsurg this coming friday :eek: I am having trouble remembering what goes on with a pt who has: hyperkalemia/hypokalemia,hyponatremia/hypernatremia! i just feel like there is a lot to remember ,was wondering if anybody has tips?suggestions on how to study for this??out of all the topics,i am ok with immune system,oncology, periop nursing, neuro.But F& E? oh gosh:o

There are some mnemonics that someone posted on here awhile back and I know that there was one for hyperkalemia. I would put it in the search engine and see what you come up with:-):yeah:
