hello...you may want to check out "moving to the phils..." and "2nd courses..." thread titles for some information. there are a lot of nursing schools/colleges in the phils. and determining which is "better" is i think a matter of personal judgment. i heard that the more reputable universities have been very selective of students (UP, for one, the state university doesn't accommodate second degree nursing) and could be more expensive than other schools (but still, in comparison to the us, not THAT expensive). on the other hand, the less popular schools offering second degree nursing could (but not all) have less desirable passing rate.

i know of an md grad from a well-heeled institution in the phils., practiced for a decade then decided to shift careers to nursing. she took nursing classes from a "relatively unknown" school but made it to the boards, nclex without any problem. she's now processing her papers for california....because of this, i'm inclined to believe that you don't really have to go to the "BEST-est" school for nursing in the country. be sure, though, that it's accredited.

are you pinoy (originally pinoy) living somewhere else now? where in the phils. are you planning to study?
